More than 8,000 girls graduated from ARP since 1996, reuducing the FGM cases and improving the girl childs education.
The Child Molding Clubs Program is dedicated to empowering children by teaching them about social roles and gender equality from a young age.
The parents attending the meetings at the centers are receive training on the importance of foundational literacy.
The Tharaka Women Welfare Program (TWWP) was originally established in 1996 under the name “Ntanira Na Mugambo,” which translates to “Circumcision with Words” with the primary mission of eradicating Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) in Tharaka. Our community approach includes different interventions in promoting foundational literacy and a reading culture in Tharaka through remote & fixed libraries, providing access to education and mentorship to girls, and enhancing the overall quality of life for girls and women in the community through social economic empowerment.
